MINICOURSES OF TUSCAN CULTURE AND CUISINE
The Tuscan Experience is a social programme designed to complete the stay of our students.
They can chose one or more mini-courses or the full package.
The programme can also be complementary to a leisure stay (without course of Italian)
MONDAY (afternoon): WINE AND OLIVE-OIL TASTING
From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.: meeting in a farm house where a sommelier and a professional cook will illustrate the characteristics of Tuscanolive-oil and wine. A snack made of Tuscansalt ham, cheese, olives, “fettunte” (Tuscan bread and olive-oil) and wine will conclude the afternoon.
TUESDAY (afternoon 3 hours): SEMINAR ON PUCCINI’S MUSIC
In a XIX century villa on the shores of lake Massaciuccoli a musician will take you into the life and works of Giacomo Puccini by showing original papers and by playing his most famous opera arias on the piano. A cocktail and a selection of local specialties will be served on a terrace near the lake at the end of the day.
TUESDAY (afternoon and evening): ITALIAN CUISINE COURSE
From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.: meeting in a beautiful Tuscan country villa to cook a typical Italian menu together with a cook. Each participant will have a role in the preparation of the dishes.The evening ends in the patio with the dinner prepared by the participants. A free book of recipes as gift for everybody.
WEDNESDAY: PAPIER-MÂCHÉ COURSE (a tradition of the Carnival in Viareggio)
From 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.: introduction and preparation of the materials necessary for the performance. From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.: performance of little works, which will be given as a gift to the participants.
THURSDAY: MAKING PIZZA (afternoon and evening)
From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.: In the kitchen of a country house a specialized “pizzaiolo” will teach the participants how to knead the dough to prepare pizzas and “focaccia bread”; each student will prepare his own pizza and will cook it in a beautiful log-fire oven in the patio, while a table will be set in the garden for the “pizza dinner”.Gift to each participant.
FRIDAY: TUSCAN CUISINE COURSE (afternoon and evening)
From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. In the kitchen of a beautiful Tuscan villa an experienced cook will illustrate the ingredients for a typical menu of the Tuscan cuisine which will then be cooked by the participants. The evening ends with the dinner prepared in the afternoon. The table will be set and decorated according to the menu. Gastronomic gift to each participant.
